Fujifilm G-mount lenses

G mount is for Fujifilm’s GFX bodies, whose sensor is roughly 1.7× the area of full-frame. The crop factor works the other way from APS-C: a 63mm GF lens gives roughly a 50mm full-frame angle of view.

What you gain and what you give up

You gain resolution, tonal gradation and a shallower depth of field at a given angle of view. You give up autofocus speed, burst rate and lens choice. G mount suits landscape, studio and portrait work far more than anything that moves.

A small, expensive, very good catalogue

The GF range is short but there are no weak lenses in it. Prices start above where most full-frame lenses end, though a used GF 63mm f/2.8 or GF 45mm f/2.8 costs less than several full-frame flagship primes.

No third parties

There is effectively no third-party autofocus support for G mount, so budget alternatives do not exist. Used is the only route to a lower price.
